Round 2

Posted on: April 30, 2008 3:23 pm

I remember when I was a kid and I could buy Big League Chew, Cherry Clans, Lemon Heads, Ring Pops and Alexander the Grapes for $1.
What happened to those days?  The days when you would get Nintendo thumb because you were holding down the "A" button for two hours while playing Excite Bike and Mike Tyson's Punch Out.  What happen to the days when you could go to Square Pan Pizza or Godfather Pizza and play Double Dragon all night long?  What happened to TV when the best show on was Beverly Hills 90210 and Melrose Place?  Ya I said it.  Once in a while I like to go get a 40 oz of Old English, throw on my favorite DJ Quick tape and play John Elway's Quaterback on Nintendo.

AHH those were the days,

Round 2

Tecmo Bowl, and I was always the Bears.  The Hail Mary was the go to play and staying up all night was the biggest thing you do.  That was back in the day when going to McDonald's was treat istead of going through the drive thru and eating in your car on your way to the next meeting you have.  You couldn't wait to grow up and now you can't stand your job.  When I get home tonight I'm going to get a happy meal, hook up the nintendo and finish off a 12 pack.  Maybe I'll call in sick to work tomorrow.

Round 2

Man, I remember praying someone left a couple credits in the Gauntlet game, so I could be lucky enough to be told I, warrior, "shot the food" and "was about to die."  I remember being the only one left holding on to the black dick of the 2600 cause everyone else with money moved on to the 'intendo. Try getting your friends to come over to play pac-man and yar's revenge when they are rippin' it up mario style with the koopas and the bowzers and the "build your own excitebike track!!" I remember when cassettes were cool and it took four minutes to rewind a five minute song.  I remember that I was the only kid that had a skateboard with handles built in while my other buds were pushing Bones Brigade and pretending they were sponsered by Vision. I used to impress the ladies by doing backflips off the swings and pretending to listen, only now to impress the Ladies by doing backflips off swings and pretending to listen. I MISS WHEN GIRLS WERE GROSS, and you kept your money to buy G.I Joes and the endless supply of Necco Wafers. Man I miss Saturday Cartoons.....when they meant something.
